If you’re planning a trip to Maui with your kids, you have multiple entertainment options; beach fun, kayak tours, outrigger canoes, and family surfing lessons are a few of the activities we’d recommend as you plan your visit.
A few things to note about taking family surf lessons in Maui:
Child Ages and Experience Levels
At Hawaiian Ocean Sports, we specialize in teaching surf lessons to all levels, ages 5 and up,- we cater to all abilities and experience levels, from beginner to advanced surfers. Our experienced instructors provide a safe, fun, engaging, and knowledge filled environment to learn how to surf.
How it Works
1. Select whether you’d like a private or semi-private surfing lesson. Private surf lessons offer individual attention with one surfer per instructor at the cost of $199 per person for 2 hours. Semi-Private surf lessons are for private groups of 2 or more surfers and the instructor is booked specifically for the group,- the cost is $99 per person and the duration is also 2 hours. In addition, as an August Special, Aloha Surf School is offering an Open Group surf lesson at 12:30 daily with one instructor per 6 students, the cost is $75 per person and the duration is the normal 2 hour lesson time. Please call 808-633-2800 to inquire and book.
2. Book your lesson. Select your date and time for your surf lesson. If you are booking within 24 hours, please call us at 808-633-2800 to arrange a time.
3. Show up for your lesson! All you need is your bathing suit and a towel. We will provide all the rest; water shoes, rashguard, surf/SUP board, and water. It is with hanohano (honor), ha’aha’a (pride) and Maluna o’u kela ko’i ko’i(that responsibility/obligation is on me) that we share the ancient Hawaiian sport of He’e Nalu — to ride a surfboard, surfing, wave riding; literally wave sliding. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to surfing.
